Hi, my name is Rich Owens and I one of the instructors for the Actex Exam FM/2 Online Prep Course.  I am an FSA and a CFA charterholder (investment profession exams).  In 2010, I retired from MetLife to pursue a second career in teaching and hold a teaching certificate in the states of New Jersey and Pennsylvania to teach high school math.  Along the way, I was an adjunct teaching actuarial courses at Drexel University and was fortunate to be offered a full time position at Ball State University for the 2012-2013 school year.  The courses I have taught include those to help students learn the material for Exams P/1, FM/2, MFE/3F, and MLC.  In addition, I am the author for the Actex study manuals for the Quantitative Finance and Investment Track exams of the SOA.

Online is different from in-person classes.  I earned both my teaching certificate (Drexel) and my master's degree (Master's in Security Analysis and Portfolio Management from Creighton University) online, so am quite familiar with the format.  Online is flexible yet requires more discipline than in-person.

Welcome and I look forward to working with you
